What are the safety precautions that are in place?
At Northcliff Hill Nursery School we take safety very seriously. We have numerous safety precautions in place that is listed below:
*CCTV camera's in every room, and outside.
*A security company that does round the clock security checks on the premises.
* Every staff member is fingerprinted and has a police clearance.
*Fire extinguishers in rooms allocated by Technology Fire Control.
*Smoke detectors in every room.
* First Aid Kit, and trained personnel in First Aid.
* A secure parking lot with remote access gate.
*Safety drills every 6 months
* A very Strict policy on fetching your child.
Food and Preparation?
Your child's health is an important role for mental and physical development. The correct preparation ensures that there are no food contamination. We take pride that we have a certificate from the Johannesburg Health Department.
All the food is prepared in a hygienic environment
* Food is prepared daily from fresh vegetables and from the best qaulity products.
* 4 seasonal vegetables and Lentils, Barley, pasta /mealie rice, soya
* We make up our own Snack Packs without all the harmful byproducts.
* Breakfast, Lunch and an Afternoon Snack is included in the school fees.
* As of 2017 we will be growing our own vegetables and fruit that will be managed by the children.
Education, Activities and Classrooms

We provide a safe learning environment for all types of learners. The school is curriculum based, to ensure that the learners are school ready, physically and emotionally.
Practika is part of the school curriculum where learners develope their gross motor, fine motor, and sensory skills.
All the classrooms are age related in small groups and the activies are based on their development milestones.
We provide experiences for the children to learn about animals, careers and knowledge of the outside world.
Hygiene
We know that you want to keep your little one happy and healthy. That is why we strive to keep Northcliff Hill Nursery School hygienically safe.
* Bathrooms, Classes and the Kitchen are kept clean daily.
* We provide hygienic handwash in every bathroom.
* Dishes are washed in a dishwasher.
Why doesn't my child want to go to school?
What time did the child go to bed?
Did the child have to be woken or did the child wake up by him/herself?
Who is at home? Family or friends visiting or perhaps a new baby?
Was the child sick or upset this morning?
What happened this morning, did the child play games or watched tv or having fun?
Are you going shopping today, did the child overheard your plans for the day?
All of the above have an influence on the child's willingness to go to school.
